    Plaquenil prednisone and methotrexate

Also had to have an occupational health meeting today for my job as not worked for 6 months now and hoping they make me redundant as i can't work as a waitress with ra due to pain and flares in my opinion. (others may do) and i then can get benefits till i find a job i can do with the ra(i am not doing this just for benefits, i hope people understand that) I have now been on Plaq for just over three years and MTX for just under three years.

Chloroquine and proguanil malaria Plaquenil is os jumction Hydroxychloroquine annual monitoring Hydroxychloroquine liver function tests

Methotrexate MTX, trade names Trexall™ and Rheumatrex™ is the most commonly used DMARD in the treatment of RA, in up to 80% of patients in some studies. MTX is a folic acid analog, which when administered in high doses blocks purine and pyrimidine synthesis. Dec 15, 2010 hello hope everyone is well just a quick question, i have been on methotrexate for 2 months increasing from 7.5 to 15 and now to 25mg.weekly now been given plaquenil 400mg daily, has anyone else been on this mixture and has it worked or how long should i wait to see if it works. I am on both methotrexate and plaquenil. I have been on plaquenil for over a year and a half and methotrexate since September. I have had no side effects from either one. I get my eyes checked every six months and I am now at once a month on blood work for my liver enzymes used to be every 2 weeks.

My Rheumy suggested MTX and told me it would be months before we knew for sure it would work. The combination works well for me-though I also take a NSAID. I started feeling better about a month after starting plaq-I was also on prednisone at the time-but couldn't get all the way well.

Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine is an effective medication for autoimmune conditions and malaria that comes with less side effects than other DMARDs. Reduces inflammation and cell replication. Otrexup methotrexate is the first-choice treatment for many types of cancer and arthritis, but it has many side effects. May 28, 2016 My Rheumatologist told me he has to take me off of Prednisone and wants to start me on another RX. I have been diagnosed with Limited Scleroderma. My choices are Methotrexate, Plaquenil or Sulfasalzine Azulfidine. I researched them and determined Plaquenil would be my last choice, although it was his first, because I already have lattice. Plaquenil vs Methotrexate. It wasn't until the addition of the Plaquenil, Prednisone, and Sulfasalazine that my pain improved within a two week period afterwards. I switched to MTX injections because I couldn't successfully taper off of the prednisone 5mg increments without the return of pain.
